FAQ
Do I need an account?
Yes. Shloop uses account sign-in so your notes, places, and uploaded media can stay available through the Service.
Where is my data stored?
Account data, notes, places, uploaded images, wishlist items, recommendation activity, and related metadata may be stored or processed through our service infrastructure. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Is everything end-to-end encrypted?
No. Shloop encrypts selected free-text note details, precise reusable place information, wishlist detail data, and uploaded image bytes before storage. Basic account information and service metadata may remain stored in plaintext where needed to operate the Service. This is application-level encryption, not server-blind end-to-end encryption.
How do recommendations work?
Recommendations use your saved beer, wine, and whiskey notes as taste signals. Scores, favorites, recent history, feedback, and current service settings can affect whether Shloop can show a useful result.
Why are recommendations not available yet?
Recommendations may be unavailable when there are not enough positive notes yet, your refresh allowance is used up, or a category is temporarily unavailable. Adding more high-rated or favorited notes can help future results.
How does backup & restore work?
When available in the app, backup and restore use authenticated account snapshots for notes, places, and wishlist items. Some media may only restore when the related service record still exists.
Why does the app show ads?
Shloop may show ads through third-party providers such as Google AdMob. Some recommendation refresh flows may use rewarded ads. Ad availability and data processing depend on provider policies, platform settings, region, and your choices.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. Shloop is not directed to children. You must meet the app marketplace age rating and the legal drinking age in your jurisdiction, whichever is stricter.
